readers journal#12

Dear ________________ (your name)
The book I read is called chicken soup for the kids soul.I think the authors are mostly like the kids who sent these letters saying things that happened to them. I really liked this book it was very interesting.I think you should read it.
The characters are:

Coach: He believed the boy can be able to make a score.

The boy:He tried and tried to make a score. But he did not.

Dad:He believed in his child. He encouraged him.
The setting is in some basketball court.I think it was very sunny , cool.
The plot of my book is that a boy was in a basketball team he really never played in games. He never scored any shots. But one day a kid sprained his ankle so he took his spot and they were in the championship. So he did his best and he actually made the winning shot.He was so happy and everyone else was to.I really liked this book.
The conflict is that the boy could not make a shot.
My favorite part is the part where he makes the shot.
My least favorite part is the part where the boy gets his ankle sprained.

                                       Sincerely Julio Lopez

P.S.I recommend you to read this book.

  1. Dear Julio,
I also really Like the Chicken Soup for the Soul books. I like the story you chose to tell about. Were there any other stories in the book that you really liked besides this one? I would recommend next time that you tell about at least 2 stories from a book like this since the stories are really short. You did a really good job!

  2. Dear Julio,

I also read chicken soup for my last rj. Why did you chose this story? How can you relate to your least and favorite parts? Why did you chose for the kid soul? You should write a little more for the story.

    From your friend,
    Lucky

  3. Dear Julio,
I really liked how you described the characters and what was their role in the story. I really enjoy reading chicken soup books too! I also read it last week! They have really cute stories. This story seems very interesting!
    Some questions I have are:
If you had to change the ending, what would it be?
Do you think the boy deserved to make the final shot? Why or why not?
Which character can you connect with the most?
I suggestion that I have is, I really think that you should write a little more for your plot. (Just to make it a little more detailed).
    Other then that, Great job!
    Sincerely,
    Dore Dadon

  7. Dear Dory thank you.No I would not change the ending.I do think the boy deserved to shoot the last shot, because if he tries he can do it.I relate most to the boy because him and me are not so good at basketball. Thanks for the advice.
